If you are interested in Heth’s Division, 3rd Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, especially its role in the Siege of Petersburg, you will want this research material.
This downloadable Excel (.xlsx) file contains a transcription of the Confederate Inspection report for Heth’s Division on August 18, 1864. Information includes:
- Brigade and regimental commanders
- Regimental unit strengths as well as men absent for various reasons
- Weapons used by the unit on the inspection date
- The condition of the unit on the inspection date
- Kirkland’s Brigade
- Davis’ Brigade
