I have a sword that Jw Moore or Victor Guy Moore conficated from a federal soldier during the civil war. I am trying to find out more….. He was from McDuffie County GA and may have been a member of the Thompsons Guards. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I believe that I’m a descendant of Private Robert F. Eshom. Robert F. Eshom was a member of Company F of the 10th Regiment of the Georgia Volunteers known as the Thomson Gurads. Mr. Great Grand Mother was Mittie Bell Eshom who married William Orr Graves of Lincoln County, GA. My Grand Mother was Flora Alma Graves.

My data indicates that Robert F. Eshom had three children when he joined Company F. at Thomson, GA. These were Matilda Eshom, Mittie Eshom and Junius Eshom. All the children lived out their lives in Lincoln and Wilkes Counties and are buried at Greenwood Baptist Church in Lincoln Co., GA.

I do not know any details about the service of Robert F. Eshom, but records indicates that he served until 1864. Can you help me learn more about Robert F. Eshom
