Southern Historical Society Papers
The Southern Historical Society Papers were published in 52 volumes from 1876 to 1959. Many volumes contain first person accounts of the wartime South by noted Confederate Civil War veterans.

The history of the War-time South! The Southern Historical Society was formed to gather and preserve the history of the war-time South. Through men such as Robert E. Lee, Dabney Herndon Maury, Alexander H. Stephens, Wade Hampton, and Jubal Early, The Southern Historical Society Papers offered almost 20,000 pages of material, many articles became famous in their own right.
Articles concerning the Petersburg Campaign, Bermuda Hundred Campaign, and Appomattox Campaign are scattered throughout the 52 volumes. They are organized according to which of the three campaigns they cover in the pages listed below.
