Skirmish on the Black road, near Strasburg, VA, the Shenandoah Valley, Campaign.

Skirmish near Columbia Furnace, VA, the Shenandoah Valley, Campaign.

The engagement on the Darbytown and New Market Roads, including combats at Johnson’s Farm and Four-Mile Creek, as Confederate forces attack and try to push back the Union siege forces around Petersburg, VA, but to no avail, the Richmond, VA, Campaign.

Brig. Gen. John Gregg, CSA, is mortally wounded in the action while attempting to push back the Federal troops on the Darbytown Road, below Richmond, VA.
