The Governor of New Jersey calls out volunteers for the defense of Washington, D.C.

Skirmish at Turkey Creek, Lee’s Mills, near Ream’s Station, VA, the Richmond, VA, Campaign.

Skirmish at Warwick Swamp, VA, the Richmond, VA, Campaign.

Action near Fort Stevens and skirmishes along the northern defenses of Washington, DC, before Lieut. Gen. Jubal A. Early, CSA, retreats.
