January 7, 1865

Butler, USA, from active service in the US Army, after his last failure on the assault on Fort Fisher, Wilmington, NC; one of many in his career.  This effectively removes yet another Civil War figure from any future part in the war.

Artillery duel between Confederate Chesterfield Battery and Union Fort McGilvery and Batteries 4 and 5.
