John Foskett Reviews Richmond Redeemed (2nd Ed.) at Civil War News

I just discovered a nice review by John Foskett at Civil War News of the second edition of Richard Sommers’ classic book Richmond Redeemed: The Siege at Petersburg: The Battles of Chaffin’s Bluff and Poplar Spring Church, September 29-October 2, 1864.  John does a nice job of explaining some of the differences between this volume and the first edition.  Give it a read, and if you’re interested in the Siege of Petersburg (you’re reading this post, aren’t you?), go buy the latest edition!
