July 13, 1864

Affair at Rockville, MD.

Maj. Gen. Horatio G. Wright, USA, is assigned to the command of all the forces moving against the Confederate forces in retreat from Washington, DC.

Brig. Gen. William H. Emory, USA, is assigned to the command of the detachment of the 19th US Army Corps, Washington, DC.
