The Federal expedition convoyed by the fleet of Rear-Admiral David D. Porter, USN, sails from the rendezvous off Beaufort, NC, for Fort Fisher.

The above expedition arrives at Federal Point, NC, for Fort Fisher, Wilmington, NC. 1-12/13/1865.

Maj. Gen. John G. Parke, USA, resumes command of the 9th US Army Corps, the Richmond, VA, Campaign.
