Volume LI of the Official Records is a supplemental volume of reports and correspondence covering many previous volumes, including the volumes (Xl, XLII, XLVI) which focus on the Siege of Petersburg.  This volume is broken up into two parts.  Part 1 contains reports of the leaders of various units from armies down to regiments and batteries on both sides and Union correspondence.  Volume 2 consists of Confederate Correspondence.
