Note: 1. The First Division, IX Corps, Army of the Potomac was reorganized on June 18, 1864, the last day of the Battle of Petersburg. The regiments of the Second Brigade (except the 29th Massachusetts) were transferred to the First Brigade and the Second Brigade was discontinued. The Third Brigade (with the 29th Massachusetts added) became the new Second Brigade. The division is organized as it existed on June 15, 1864, at the start of the First Offensive.1
