SEVERAL MILES OF THE PETERSBURG R.R. DESTROYED.

FORT MONROE, June 10.

On Saturday morning a force under General Gilmore made a demonstration on Petersburg, and succeeded in carrying the enemy’s outer earthworks, with the loss of a few men.  While this was being done Gen.
