Alex Patten Diary: June 16, 1864

Note: This is one of many diary entries of Alex Patten, who participated in the Siege of Petersburg as a member of the 109th New York.

June 16, 1864:1

Marched from midnight. Crossed the _______ bridge. The longest ever laid in this country. 108 boats. We marched for 20 hours and arrived near Petersburg about dusk. After some supper we went down to support the 2nd Corps.
