Alex Patten Diary: June 14, 1864

Note: This is one of many diary entries of Alex Patten, who participated in the Siege of Petersburg as a member of the 109th New York.

June 14, 1864:1

This morning you can see the entire sixth and ninth corps camped upon a plain. We will cross the river today and commence our great movement south of the James. Was down to the river today bathing. Cannot say much in favor of its bathing qualities.
