December 17, 1864

George G. Meade orders a 100 gun salute along the lines at Petersburg at sunrise to celebrate George Thomas’ victory over John Bell Hood at the Battle of Nashville.

Artillery skirmishes involving Union Fort Sedgwick and Fort Morton.
